Ravindra Gaikwad in Parliament: His 10 shocking remarks over AI incident
New Delhi : Amid Shiv Sena's backing, MP Ravindra Gaikwad tried to defend himself from the criticism of allegedly beating an Air India staffer by slipper.
Shiv Sena lawmaker told Parliament that he has remained polite throughout the course to resolve the issue and have also apologised.
Following are the 10 key statements he said while addressing Parliament on Thursday (April 6, 2017).
1: Like Mahatma Gandhi Ji was thrown out of train in South Africa, PM Narendra Modi was denied VISA by US, similarly I have been banned from flying in Air India flight.
2: I have been taught to fight like Chhatrapati Shivaji.
3: The fight began after an Air India staffer came with a query and started insulting me by saying I am just a MP and not Narendra Modi.
4: My fight was against the wrong; I had business class ticket and they forced me to sit in economy class.
5: I lost my cool when an AI staffer shouted I am the 'baap' of airlines.
6: I have given my apology as I look forward to resolve the issue at earliest.
7: The entire incident should be probed. Action should be taken against not just the AI staff who misbehaved with me but also the CMD of AI for banning me from flights.
8: For last few days, I have made no bookings, unidentified people are doing using my name.
9: Aadhaar cards should be made compulsory for booking a flight ticket, this will bar terrorists and fake travellers on plane.
10: I have been booked for attempt to murder, how is this possible when I was not carrying any sort of weapon?
