Strong tremors felt in Delhi and surrounding area, epicentre in Nepal

New Delhi : Strong tremors were felt in Delhi and surrounding areas after an earthquake of 5.8 magnitude struck Nepal on Tuesday.

"An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter Scale hit Nepal at 2:28 pm today," National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

The epicentre for the earthquake was found in Nepal, around 150 kms from Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, residents in Delhi-NCR started sharing their earthquake experiences on social media. In some of the videos shared online, fans and household objects were seen shaking.

So far, there are nor reports of life loss or major property damage.
