Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi gears up for Winter Session

New Delhi : Congress Vice President on Monday swore to tear apart Modi government for its failures in coming Winter Session.

While chairing the crucial Congress Working Committee (CEC) meeting in New Delhi in absence of party chief Sonia Gandhi; he claimed that under Modi government 'democracy' in India is passing through the darkest phase ever.

"Hiding behind the cloak of national security, civil society is being intimidated for asking questions. Television channels are being punished and asked to shut down. The opposition is being arrested for holding the government to account. All attempts by this government to suppress our fundamental freedoms by abusing state power will only strengthen our resolve to defeat such dangerous designs," Rahul said.

Rahul alleged that the Centre is very smartly playing politics and hiding their failures under the figures which are easily doubted.

"Selectively chosen corporate are favoured, not the aam admi. Youth, even those who have good education, face the spectre of unemployment. Famers' suicides and agrarian unrest have increased to astonishing levels," he said.

He also alleged that Modi government has completely failed in dealing with Islamabad. Under the saffron party, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed highest number of attacks.

Now, Rahul Gandhi will be raising questions from the Centre during the Winter Session.
