Rahul Gandhi jibes BJP-government with 'Hum do, humare do' slogan

New Delhi : 'Hum do, humare do' was a slogan which was made famous for the family planning in India; Rahul Gandhi used it in the Lok Sabha on Thursday to take a jibe on BJP government.

This country is run by four people – "Hum do, humare do", said Rahul Gandhi during his address in the Lok Sabha. The major decisions in the country, including demonetization, GST, lockdown and even the farm bill laws have been taken for the benefit of these four people.

Rahul Gandhi, however, did not name anyone but his reference to four people was clear. Over farmers' protest, he claimed that this is not just a protest, instead it is the struggle of whole India which is being led by the farmers.

The new laws will completely destroy the rural economy of India; the laws have been designed to remove the middle man, resulting in loss of jobs and end of small businesses.

"India will not be able to generate growth, generate jobs... all because the backbone of our nation will have been destroyed for the benefit of 'Hum doh, aur humaare doh'," Rahul Gandhi added amid loud protests from BJP members.

He also warned BJP government that there is no way you can win from the farmers and eventually you will have to repeal the three laws.

On Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi had defended his government’s move and called that the new farm laws do not shut any of the previous facilities, infact they create an option for the farmers to get better returns.
