- Amit Shah: It seems he is not in fray and will only be exercise oversight over the two state governments. Yet, several political pundits feel that the course can be changed with Amit Shah becoming the CM.
- Rajnath Singh: Reports prove that Amit Shah is keen on making Rajnath Singh as the next Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as BJP wants someone who is comfortable with all communities in the state.

- Manoj Sinha: A Bhumihar and an engineer by training and former president of BHU Students' Union, is liked by both Modi and Shah.
- Yogi Adityanath: The religious man is also the head of Goraksh Peeth of Gorakhpur and is within both Shah and Modi's zone of consideration because of his commitment to the Hindutva cause.
- Mahesh Sharma and DSatish Mahana: Two prominent BJP faces in Noida and Kanpur, they have exceptionally done well in their fields and are also in the fray.
BJP's parliamentary board will meet on Sunday to select the CM candidates for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
