Home-made summer drinks restores hormonal balance

New Delhi : Summer heat is progressing day by day and our body needs cool and hydrating drinks. Though markets are loaded with sugar-sweetened juices, energy drinks and even flavoured water. But, these ready-to-eat drinks may harm your health. So this summer, enjoy sipping some home-made drinks which will energise you anyway.

Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar suggests that thandai is one of the best cool summer drinks which have lost of health benefits. The mix of spices, nuts, milk, herbs and sugar can be easily prepared at home and not just adults, kids can also stay cool by drinking this stuff. 

Thandai is a traditional Indian summer drink which is made with mix of nuts like almonds and pistachios along with khus-khus, cardamom, pepper, saffron and fennel seeds (saunf). All these ingredients, when mixed with milk (and water), can work as a powerful energiser. 

The clever mix of herbs, spices, nuts and seeds restores hormonal balance and also rich in antioxidants.

Many people complaints that they suffer from Acidity, bloating and laziness during summer days. Thandai, here, plays an important role to prevent all this conditions. It can restore mucus lining and provide the gut with good bacteria, thus improving gut health.

Besides, drinking coconut water, sugarcane juice, buttermilk, nimbu pani (lemon water), gulkand and other homemade sherbets works wonder in scorching summer days.
