New Delhi : It is time when India needs to mask up again to avoid serious implications related to coronavirus; the tri-colour nation has registered a spike of 40 per cent in daily cases. On Wednesday, 7,240 new infections of coronavirus were registered. 

A total of eight people lost their lives in the same period of 24 hours.

With the addition of new cases, the active caseload in India is 32,498. The recovery rate in India stands at 98.71 per cent, said the government data.

As per the latest data, the daily positivity rate is at 2.13 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 1.31 per cent.

A total of 85.38 crore tests for Covid detection have been conducted so far, with 3,40,615 having been held in the last 24 hours.

As many as 194.59 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in India under the nationwide vaccination drive.
