New York : Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, will be sending Tesla's latest electric car Roadster to Mars on its Falcon Heavy rocket.

From past few months, Musk had been planning to send a Tesla car on Mars and with the latest pictures tweeted by SpaceX, it seems like the plan is back on track.

SpaceX has posted images revealing the Tesla Roadster model that will visit Mars when Falcon Heavy lifts off for the Red Planet.

In the pictures shared by Musk on Instagram, the unreleased Tesla Roadster can be seen mounted on a cone and placed inside Falcon rocket. The cone is expected to keep Roadster in place as the rocket takes off on its maiden voyage to Mars.

However, SpaceX and Musk have admitted that it is not guaranteed that Falcon Heavy will make it to Mars in its very first attempt.

There are enough chances that the rocket may not make it to the Mars in its first attempt. If Falcon heavy fails to make it to space then it would burn both the rocket and the Tesla model. Well, that situation is no worry for Elon Musk.

“There’s a lot of risk associated with the Falcon Heavy, a real good chance that vehicle does not make it to orbit,” Musk said earlier this year. “I hope it makes it far enough away from the pad that it doesn’t cause pad damage. I would consider even that a win, to be honest.”

Tesla Roadster was unveiled alongside the new electric semi-truck last month. The Roadster is the fastest production car ever and has the ability to go from zero to 60 in under two seconds. It starts at $2,00,000 (around Rs 1.3 crore) and requires a deposit of $50,000.
