Doomsday on February 4? NASA reveals a true side of massive asteroid 2002 AJ129
New Delhi : A massive asteroid, larger than any skyscraper yet built, is hurtling towards Earth and likely to come closest on February 4, Daily Mail informs.
According to the news report, predictions are that if the asteroid - 2002 AJ129 - hits Earth then it will be cold and dark for decades with misery across the planet.
Though nothing like that is happening as the NASA scientists have confirmed that the asteroid is not going to hit Earth, instead it will fly by at a distance of 2.6 million miles.
The 2002 AJ129 asteroid has been classed a 'potentially hazardous' by Nasa and will fly past at speeds of 67,000mph (107,826kmh).

There are several media reports on the internet that are claiming it to be a 'doomsday' even with a picture of AJ129 boiling away an ocean, which is not true for obvious reasons.
A concerned citizen sent a link to NASA asking for a confirmation of such reports that even claimed deaths of many people in upcoming event.
“Because it is a lie,” NASA tweeted in Spanish.
Not even a novel lie. AJ129 is one of hundreds of asteroids of a certain size that have flown or will fly within 4.65 million miles of Earth and are therefore classified by NASA as “potentially hazardous.”
None of them are predicted to hit us.
