Space race to mars begins in 2019: President Vladimir Putin challenges to NASA

New Delhi : The Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an open challenge to NASA with respect to Mars Mission to be launched in 2019.  A recent documentary, hosted by reported Andery Kondrashov underlined Putin’s interest to beat the United States in the MARS Exploration Mission. He elaborated his plans on exploring the Red Planet.

He said, “We are planning unmanned and later manned launches, into deep space, as part of a lunar program and for Mars exploration.” In addition to this, he has also mentioned that they are very close to the Mars mission and will possibly launch it 2019 i.e next year.

During the discussion, Putin has given a clear vision of Russia’s important strategy behind the Mars Mission. He explained that Russian specialists will try to make landings on the poles, because there is reason to believe that there can be water there.”

His statement indicates the strong need to understand the progress to be made following the study of other planets and distant space from the viewpoint of the ‘planet MARS’.

However, Putin did not clearly mention the exact date of when the mission will be launched in 2019. It is likely that Scientists in Russia may initiate their mission any time within the year, which will, off-course, place them ahead of the already planned NASA MARS Mission to be launched in July/August 2020.
