New Delhi : Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who had announced last week that he has tested positive for coronavirus, on Friday made a fresh announcement of him getting hospitalized "under medical advice". The cricketing legend has also mentioned that he will soon return home "in a few days".

"Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone," Sachin Tendulkar wrote on Twitter. The legendary batsman also wished his teammates and "all Indians" on the 10th anniversary of India's 2011 World Cup triumph.

Earlier on March 27, he had revealed that he has tested positive for coronavirus. He said that he was tested after showing "mild symptoms" and had quarantined himself at home.

Meanwhile, he also mentioned that the other members in the house had tested negative.
