Mohali : India vs Australia T20I series started on a bitter note for Indian fans as the men in blue lost the first game despite a high score on the board.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Asked to bat first, Team India lost their star batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli within first five overs. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav took the battle into their hands and took the scorecard above 100 before the fall of the third wicket.

At this moment, Team India was looking at a decent score of 170-180 runs, but then came Hardik Pandya who went after every possible hit and with his three consecutive sixes in the last three balls of the match he took the total to 208 runs for the loss of six wickets.

With a high score, Indian team had a good chance to take the game in their favour; Australian team on the other hands had other plans. They started an aggressive chase from the first ball. The Kangaroos did face wicket fall at regular intervals, but they ensured a good run rate and eventually took the game out of India's hands.

Australia managed to seal the game with 4 balls left.
