New Delhi : Indian cricket icon and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar is all set to adopt another village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna. The master blaster has chosen Donja in Osmanabad in Maharashtra to take under his belt.

Earlier, he has a village named Puttamraju Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh under the scheme.

The living legend has sanctioned over Rs 4 crore from his MPLAD fund for development of Donja. The amount will be spent on development of a new school building, a water Supply scheme that would provide potable water to each household, concrete roads and a sewage line attached to the same, a press release stated.

Five special village level meetings have been held since the village was adopted by Tendulkar.

The initial planning has already been completed and the issuing of tenders for the various works is expected to commence after the Zilla Parishad elections in the region.

Over 400 of the 610 households in Donja village did not have toilets when the village was adopted by Tendulkar. Since then, over 231 toilets have been built and are being used.
