T20 World Cup: Sri Lanka's defeat impact on India's Group A

New Delhi : Sri Lanka started the T20 World Cup 2022 journey with a defeat against Namibia. The Asia Cup 2022 champions and their fans would have never imagined such start to the tournament. But, this is what it is. The Sri Lankan side lost their first game against Namibia by 55 runs.

The complete praise in here is for the Namibia side who played the game with complete control and never gave a chance to Sri Lanka to grab hold in the game.

It was a qualifier match that is being played among the 8 nations and the top 4 teams will enter the Super 12 to officially enter the battle of T20 World Cup.

Now talking about the Sri Lanka's defeat impact on Indian side; the winner of Group B and the runner-up of the Group A will join the battle in India’s group.

West Indies are the favourites to win the Group B while the Group A could now see Sri Lanka taking the runners-up spot, courtesy of their defeat against Namibia. If this happens then both West Indies and Sri Lanka will enter the Indian group creating more difficulties to stay in the top.

We are saying this as India had performed not up to the expectations in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. And the psychological pressure can create further troubles in the game.
