Delhi : Green lines typically appear on smartphone displays – or any other displays for that matter – when there’s a problem with the connector or if the device has taken a beating. It’s a hardware issue. But as is the case with several OnePlus owners, their devices are running into green line issues after a software update.

Recent reports on Twitter claim that the OxygenOS 13 update results in a green line showing up on a handful of OnePlus devices. These consist of the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9R—basically the whole line of smartphones available from the manufacturer that are compatible with the OxygenOS 13 update. Nevertheless, it appears that the OnePlus 10 Pro is secure.

Although it is unclear from the reports if the problem manifests straight away or takes some time after the device is updated to the most recent OxygenOS release, a connection between that version and the problem cannot be disregarded.

The claims don't make it obvious whether the problem appears as soon as the device is updated to the newest OxygenOS release. According to user accounts, the green line might emerge even if the device hasn't been dropped, water-damaged, or handled improperly, which is really strange. Another finding was that all complaints to date appear to originate from Indian owners, but this might have more to do with how well-liked OnePlus is there.

There are currently no known fixes for the green line problem, which is unfortunate. Green lines are almost usually hardware-related and, more often than not, permanent, despite the fact that some users claim they only sometimes experience them. It is advised to take the affected device to the service centre if you are experiencing the issue. While out-of-warranty devices might need some persuading, under-warranty units should receive a free replacement display.
