WATCH: Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone sale starts today at 12PM on mi.com and Amazon India

New Delhi : Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available for sale from today in the online store of mi.com and Amazon India.  The compact smartphone will be on its first sale along with the recently launched Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4A. The online sale will start at 12 noon, today.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 is the latest budget smartphone of Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi. Redmi 5 was launched at a starting price of Rs 7,999 last week. Interested people can do online shopping of this new Chinese smartphone from from mi.com and Amazon India.

Sources confirmed that the Redmi 5 was launched in China in December 2017 along with a larger model – ‘Redmi 5 Plus’. The company renamed Redmi 5 Plus as Redmi Note 5 in India, and the Redmi 5 comes in as the successor to Redmi 4.

As per the market record, the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 were the best-selling smartphones in India in 2017. Reviewing the last year sale record, Xiaomi is expecting similar sale success with Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5.

Price of Xiaomi Redmi 5 smartphone 

The  Redmi 5 smartphone is available for purchase at its original launching price Rs 7,999 for the 2GB RAM variant. However, mobile phone with 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants will worth Rs 8,999 and Rs 10,999 respectively.

Features and Specification of Xiaomi Redmi 5

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 is available in gold, lake blue, black and rose gold colors. The Redmi 5 has in-built application for design language that goes well with the modern communication trend. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch display with a HD+ resolution of 1440×720 pixels, and support for taller 18:9 aspect ratio.

Xiaomi has noticeably trimmed the bezels surrounding the display. It offers curved edged for a more for efficiency and comfort in handling the gadget. The Redmi 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, the first processor in the Snapdragon 400 series to be built on the more power efficient 14nm process.

The Redmi 5 has been designed with three storage options with the base model getting 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Another model of Redmi5 comes with 32GB standard storage, and has option for either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi smartphone comes with Adreno 506 GPU for enhanced graphics performance over the outgoing model.  The  Redmi 5 sports a 12-megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus and support for 1080p video recording.

It also features a 5-megapixel secondary camera with support for 1080p video recording. The Redmi 5 comprises of connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE with VoLTE supporting compatible networks.

The Redmi 5 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. With the sleek trimmed design, the Redmi 5 has been packaged with a 3,300mAh battery.
