Delhi : Smartphones have advanced significantly to provide quick charging, brilliant displays, and expert camera capability. However, there is still one issue with device screens that OEMs must address. The touchscreens on users' cellphones don't work correctly when they use them outside on a rainy day. Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has created a new screen that can accept touch input even when the device is wet in order to solve this problem.

On August 16, the business is rumored to introduce the new Ace 2 Pro smartphone on its own soil. The business will debut a brand-new technology with this smartphone, known as the "Rain Water Touch" function.

What is Rain Water Touch

The new OnePlus Ace 2 Pro smartphone has been featured on the Chinese social media site Weibo. The mid-range smartphone has a breakthrough screen technology that enables it to recognize touch input accurately even when the screen is being splashed with water. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro and an iPhone 14 Pro were tested in the video. When the screen got wet, the Apple phone had difficulty handling touch appropriately. The iPhone occasionally ignored the touches altogether, and some of them were also imprecise. Nearly all devices experience this, and OnePlus wants to change that.

How does it function?

Capacitive technology is typically used in smartphone displays to recognize the user's finger. When and where the finger touches the screen are detected via electrical conduction. This occurs extremely quickly.

Water conducts electricity, therefore when the screen is damp, that detection is compromised. The design that OnePlus is utilizing, which is anticipated to be created by Oppo, is reported to be driven by special touch algorithms and a bespoke chip to address this problem.

The debut of the Ace 2 Pro in other markets has not yet been disclosed by OnePlus. The phone will likely be made available outside of China under a different brand. According to rumors, this technology will be included in the next OnePlus 12 flagship phone, which is said to resemble the OnePlus 2 Ace Pro extremely closely.
