Delhi : Elon Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) frequently draws attention for undergoing changes, from rebranding to the introduction of new features. The Tesla CEO revealed that the Block feature would be 'removed' from the platform since users were still processing the new X redesign. However, this feature will still be available for direct messages (DMs).

The response was in response to a query from the account "Tesla Owners Silicon Valley." In response, Musk stated that DMs would be an exception to the Block feature leaving the platform. Is it ever OK to block someone instead than mute them? Please explain," tweeted @teslaownersSV. Block will be eliminated as a "feature," with the exception of direct messages, Musk said. "It makes no sense," he continued. 38 million people have watched and 18,000 people have liked the first response as of the filing.

The Block feature enables users to prevent "specific accounts from contacting them, seeing their Tweets, and following them," according to the X Help Center. The accounts that a user blocks are prevented from following that user (and vice versa), viewing their tweets, sending DMs, tagging them in posts, and more.

When using the Mute option, a user can delete posts from their timeline without blocking or unfollowing a particular account. It doesn't restrict the ability to get DMs from muted users. Block and Mute are both useful tools for reducing the platform's spam and troll problem. However, the reader should be aware that the owner of X reversed course after announcing the new adjustments. Musk recently updated the situation after declaring that light mode would soon be removed from the platform.

In addition to these modifications, X has been in the headlines for its new X branding and Larry Bird's departure from the platform. In an effort to transform the platform into a "super app," the firm is removing any traces of the names "Twitter" and "Bluebird" from it and replacing them with the new "X" branding.
