Delhi : On its desktop homepage, Google is experimenting with adding a Discover Feed that displays suggested material in addition to the standard search box. A feed with news headlines, a weather forecast, sports scores, and stock information for three different firms is displayed in a snapshot from MSPowerUser, the site that first noticed the change. In 2018, the search giant included the Discover Feed into its mobile US site.

In a statement provided to The Verge, Google spokesperson Lara Levin acknowledged the modification and mentioned that the experiment is currently being conducted in India. Since Google.com is the most visited website in the world, any changes made to it will have a big impact.

The massive search engine has already played around with its desktop homepage. On its desktop site last year, 9to5Google noticed that it was testing a series of cards that looked like widgets and displayed a comparable assortment of news articles, financial statistics, and weather predictions. I'm not sure how widespread the functionality was implemented, though, because as of right now, I'm not seeing it in the UK.

Google's experimental interface has resemblance to Microsoft's Bing search engine, which boasts an extensive collection of news articles and other content, as noted by MSPowerUser.
