Delhi : Instagram is rumoured to be developing a new feature that would allow users to interact with AI chatbots straight within the app. The network intends to include AI bots as part of the chat experience, according to screenshots that leaker Alessandro Paluzzi recently posted on Twitter. With a range of up to 30 distinct personalities to pick from, the chatbots are anticipated to respond to customer inquiries and give guidance.

"Instagram is striving to introduce AI Agents to your conversations for a more entertaining and engaging experience; AI Agents will be able to answer queries and offer guidance. 30 distinct characters will be available for you to select from, Paluzzi wrote in a tweet.

In February, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the formation of a new product team focused on generative artificial intelligence, underlining the company's dedication to expanding AI technology. The precise release date and likely availability of this feature on Instagram, however, remain unknown.

Additionally, Instagram is getting ready to introduce a text-based microblogging platform by the end of June in an effort to rival Twitter. According to Lia Haberman's ICYMI Substack newsletter, this new text-based discussion app will be known as either "P92" or "Barcelona," and will have features comparable to Twitter's layout.

Meanwhile, the integration of AI chatbots into Instagram's messaging platform has the power to transform user interactions and open up new channels for engaging with users and providing personalised support.  A layer of interaction may be added to the Meta-owned instant photo-video sharing platform by embedding AI agents that can provide users automatic replies and direction on a range of topics and circumstances.

Users may anticipate more varied experiences inside the Instagram ecosystem as the company continues to investigate the integration of AI and gears up for the release of its text-based app.
