Delhi : The debut of Jack Dorsey's new platform, Bluesky, marks his return to the social media scene as co-founder and former CEO of Twitter. You may find the app on the Apple App Store, where it is now undergoing testing.

The microblogging platform Bluesky, according to TechCrunch, is currently in invite-only testing with a public launch coming soon. According to app intelligence company data.ai, since the iOS app went live on February 17 and has been in testing, it has been downloaded about 2,000 times.

The user interface for Bluesky is meant to be straightforward. By merely clicking on a plus button within the app, users may quickly compose a post of up to 256 characters, including photographs.

When Bluesky asks "What's up?" Twitter focuses more on "What is happening?" Users of Bluesky can share, mute, and block accounts, but the platform does not yet offer more sophisticated options like the ability to add accounts to lists.

The explore tab of Bluesky's app, which can be found in the middle of the navigation, is a helpful feature that offers users more recommendations for "who to follow" and a feed of recently posted updates on the site.

According to the source, Bluesky has a notifications page similar to Twitter where users may check for likes, reposts, following, and replies. Nevertheless, the platform does not yet have a direct messaging (DM) capability.

In a manner similar to Twitter, Bluesky enables users to look up and follow other people while also displaying their updates in a timeline on their home page. A profile photo, background, bio, and analytics are all included in Bluesky users' user profiles. First created by Twitter in 2019, the Bluesky project became a standalone business in 2022, concentrating on studying and creating decentralised social networks.

Jack Dorsey discussed Bluesky after leaving Twitter, calling it "an open, decentralised standard for social networking." According to a tweet from Dorsey in October 2022, Bluesky intends to compete with any business trying to monopolise the core functions of social media or the data of its users.

Jack Dorsey was added to Bluesky's board of directors and the company secured $13 million in funding last year. Bluesky stated in a tweet that the financing will provide them the freedom and independence to start their research and development. A former Twitter security engineer joined their company, they also said.

In order to develop tools that support free and open public discourse, Bluesky was founded.

It's unusual for a project to be organised this way. No matter what happens, we will continue to work towards our goal of a robust protocol for public discourse, which we are utilising our freedom to concentrate on establishing.
