Delhi : The brand-new Ray-Ban smart glasses from Meta, which were only revealed last week, will not only be an enhancement over their predecessor but also utilize AI.

Now, it's becoming more and more obvious that AI is here to stay, whether we like it or not. It's one of the key concerns at the center of the Hollywood strikes and the driving force behind the "Yearbook AI" fad. Meta continues to deploy AI in its many services, such as chatbots that feature the likenesses of Snoop Dogg and Kendall Jenner, despite the ongoing discussion over whether AI will ultimately be beneficial for mankind. The success of these remains to be evaluated, as does their most recent improvement to a product they debuted two years ago: the Ray-Ban smart.

When the Ray-Ban Stories were originally released in 2021, they represented Meta's aspirations that the Metaverse would grow in popularity. Sadly, neither the Metaverse nor the Ray-Ban Stories seem to have taken off as much as they had planned. Only 120,000 pairs were sold, which is much less than their estimated 300,000, according to The Verge.

Instead of having "Stories" in their name, these new smart glasses are known as "Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses." The new smart glasses, according to Meta, are an improvement over "all the core features of the first generation while adding new capabilities that have never been seen on a pair of smart glasses." An ultrawide 12MP camera identical to the iPhone 14 and a 36-hour battery life with the charging cover, which was a significant complaint about the first version, are some of the changes.

The incorporation of Meta AI, which will enable users to enjoy a "hands-free, on-the-go experience," is arguably the most significant upgrade to the new Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. Once a significant upgrade launches somewhere in the next year, users will also be able to ask the AI for details about what they are now seeing.

The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are currently available for pre-order, with prices beginning at $299 USD.
