Act of diplomacy: Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina sends 600 Kg mangoes as gift to Mamata Banerjee

New Delhi : In a generous act of diplomacy, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has presented a delightful gift to Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, by sending 600 kg of mangoes. This gesture was confirmed by officials on Monday. 

The assortment of mangoes includes the renowned 'Himsagar' and 'Langra' varieties, reflecting the richness and diversity of the region's produce. 

It is worth noting that this is not the first time such a gesture has taken place, as mangoes were sent as a gift last year as well. The officials at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission expressed their commitment to fostering strong diplomatic ties through this delightful exchange. 

Furthermore, Prime Minister Hasina extended this kind gesture to all the chief ministers of the northeast, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation. It is noteworthy that in the past year, mangoes were sent as gifts to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as well as the chief ministers of West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam.
