Islamabad : The Pakistan Army has claimed of shooting down an Indian spy drone along Line of Control in the Rakh Chikri sector.

The claim made by Pakistan Army was accompanied by a photo showing a commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle made by the drone manufacturer DJI.

Pakistani Major General Asif Ghafoor posted the picture of drone and made claims on a social media platform.

The tweet read: "Indian quadcopter spying across LOC in Rakhchikri sector shot down by Pak Army shooters. Wreckage held."

The tweet came in hours after Islamabad resisted strongly to the supply of armed drones by United States to India.

"Use of armed drones can lower the threshold for conflict, since it can encourage military misadventures, especially in the backdrop of irresponsible discourse about limited military operations below the strategic threshold," Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria told reporters in Islamabad on Friday.
