Canada Results: Justin Trudeau likely to win elections, return to power

Canada : Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to return to power, showed projections of the results of recently concluded Canada's election. But, since results are still being declared, it was difficult to conclude if he will be getting an absolute majority or not.

Mr Trudeau planned elections in the snap of smooth COVID-19 vaccination and expected exit of the nation from pandemic. But, credit to Delta variant, the last phase of his campaigning turned difficult amid sudden surge of coronavirus cases in the nation.

Trudeau said earlier he felt "serene" after casting a ballot in Montreal.

"We worked very hard during this campaign, and Canadians are making an important choice," he told AFP, flanked by his wife Sophie Gregoire and their children.

He has been heading the nation for past six months and with this people were feeling a little fatigue of the leaders. Also, with some unfulfilled promises of 2015 victory, the road was difficult for him to convince Canadians to stick with Liberals.

But, it appears like majority of Canadians want to stick by Trudeau.
