New Delhi : The Omicron variant is dominating in China these days and despite several measures taken by the local authorities, the nation has reported first deaths related to coronavirus since January 2021.

This must be noted that there have been ups and downs in the coronavirus infections in China in recent times but all patients recovered; this is the first time in more than a year that people have lost their lives.

Talking about the entire pandemic since December 2019, China has reported a little less than 5000 deaths.

Ever since Omicron variant started dominating the nation, they have imposed strict curbs and restrictions to ensure that the virus is not transmitted.

Nearly 90% of China’s 1.4 billion people fully vaccinated and more a third having received booster shots, and omicron appears increasingly as asymptomatic infections.
