Donald Trump's Walk of Fame star damaged with sledgehammer
Los angeles : Republican Donald Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was on Wednesday destroyed with a sledgehammer by a man dressed as a construction worker in Los Angeles Downtown region.
According to eyewitness and police, the man smashed the sidewalk symbol and removed it using a sledgehammer.
Officer Norma Eisenman, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department, informed, “A phone call was received by authorities reporting the attempt at about 6 a.m. The defaced site was later secured, and a tent placed over the star.”
In a viral video, the accused can be seen talking to witness, Dominic Patten, a senior editor at Deadline Hollywood, explaining the purpose behind his act.
As told to Police, Patten, 47, said he was walking on Hollywood Boulevard towards Hollywood Avenue when he spotted the man wearing what looked like Los Angeles City construction gear, a hard hat and a reflective vest.
“The man was ruthlessly smashing Trump’s Walk of Fame Star,” Patten added.
When questioned the man responded by saying that he wanted to auction the star and raise money on behalf of the nearly dozen women who have accused Trump of sexual assault or sexual harassment.
The police has not been able to make immediate confirms about the suspect but is keeping a watchful eye on the probe.
This is not the first time that Trump’s Walk of Fame Star has been damaged, the event has been reported not once but so many times; sometimes in the form of ugly graffiti, other times in the form of a mini wall bordering the star, but this time the haters have gone too far with the star completely damaged and stolen
