Election hacking: US destroying ties with Russia by 'unfounded' allegations
New Delhi : Russia has pledged "adequate reprisals" over US sanctions and claimed that the United States of America is trying to destroy ties by 'unfounded' allegations over hacking of America Elections.
The United States wants to "definitively destroy US-Russia relations which have already reached a low," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday, adding that Russia will "react in an adequate manner based on the principles of reciprocity".
Barack Obama administration on Thursday expelled 35 Russian diplomats and closed two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland.
As per a senior US official the action was taken in response to a campaign of harassment by Russia against American diplomats in Moscow.
Russia, however, claimed that the all the allegations made by US are absolutely groundless.
