Main officer accused in George Floyd killing released on bail: Court
New Delhi : The main officer charged in the killing of an African man, George Floyd, has been released on a million-dollar bail, showed the court's records. The incident had led to a massive protest in the US and several people across the world had started campaigns to support black people and discourage discrimination against them.
The 44-year-old white officer is to face trial in March along with three former colleagues over Floyd's death in Minneapolis, which triggered the largest US anti-racism movement since the 1960s.
In the CCTV camera footages and videos recorded by the onlookers, the officer was seen pressing handcuffed Floyd's neck with his knee until he passed out.
