Nupur Sarvaiya, Leading Weddings Editor, Reveals the Hottest Wedding Trends to Inspire Your Perfect Day

New Delhi : Nupur Sarvaiya is an esteemed and highly accomplished fashion journalist, known for her extensive contributions to the world of fashion, design, and weddings. With a remarkable career spanning across various renowned publications, Nupur has established herself as a prominent figure in the industry.

As the Contributing Editor at VOGUE, Architectural Digest, and the Features Editor at Khush Wedding UK magazine, Nupur brings her expertise and unique perspective to each publication. Khush Wedding UK magazine holds the distinction of being the most widely circulated wedding magazine for the South Asian diaspora, further showcasing Nupur's deep understanding of multicultural weddings.

Speaking of the latest wedding trends, Nupur says, “I don’t endorse the idea of trends when it comes to weddings. Weddings, in my opinion, are extremely personal. Trends will come and go, but the memories of your big day will last forever. So, it’s best not to get caught up in this debacle. Whether it’s your outfit or decor, choose elements that best resonate with you. This could mean if you prefer a neon lehenga over a classic red, then go for it. If you want the wedding venue to be decked up in traditional marigolds instead of hydrangeas, just do it.”

The weddings expert, however, reveals a major shift in the mindset of the modern bride and groom. “Today, couples are more conscious and mindful of their wedding choices. They want a wedding wardrobe that’s well curated with outfit that they will repeat for years. They want to reduce wastage for what will be just a few hours of celebrations but will have a large carbon footprint. They want to go local as much as possible when picking their vendors. They want to go the eco-friendly way wherever possible; be it digital wedding invites or planting trees for every guest present at the celebrations,” explains Nupur.

“Another big shift is personalisation. Brides and grooms want to make sure that not only them but also their guests feel supremely special during their wedding festivities. From food to favours, there’s a special focus on personalisation,” shares Nupur Sarvaiya.

Nupur's influence extends beyond these publications as she regularly contributes to other esteemed Indian and international magazines, including Conde Nast Traveller, Elle, Travel & Leisure, and Vogue Spain, among others. Her diverse portfolio demonstrates her versatility and ability to cater to a wide range of readerships.

In addition to her journalistic pursuits, Nupur has authored two captivating coffee table books on design and architecture. Her books offer readers an immersive visual experience while showcasing her keen eye for detail and appreciation for aesthetic beauty.
