New Delhi : The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday spoke to PM Narendra Modi urging India's political support at UNSC against the Russian aggression.

According to PMO, PM Modi expressed deep anguish over the loss of life and property in Ukraine, he reiterated call to end violence and solve the matter via dialogue.

In a Twitter post, Zelenskyy said: “Spoke with Prime Minister @narendramodi. Informed of the course of Ukraine repulsing Russian aggression. More than 100,000 invaders are on our land. They insidiously fire on residential buildings. Urged India to give us political support in UN Security Council. Stop the aggressor together!”

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy explained Ukraine's current situation to PM Modi.

On Thursday, PM Modi had spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin and had suggested him to not go ahead with violence and solve the matter with dialogues.

The Ukraine-India conversation comes a day after India abstained from the vote on a resolution criticizing Russia for its actions.
