CM Nitish Kumar's "Play Offensive" strategy blunts Opposition's agenda
New Delhi : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is known for his cool, calm and composed personality but his “play offensive” approach has made the opposition run for their money.
Chief Minister’s play offensive approach has made the opposition’s allegations against his government redundant. It is the result of CM’s pro-active role vis-à-vis development work that has taken opposition’s sting out of its armour.
Killing two birds with one stone
CM Nitish Kumar is in complete action with his development schemes and projects and showering the people with one after another gifts. On the one hand, he has inaugurated several schemes and projects in the recent past while on the other hand, the CM has started chalking out planning for several other development projects.
Some of the projects that the CM has inaugurated in recent past included the much awaited six lane Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur connectivity. Besides, the CM also announced the setting up of a committee to carry out studies and explore the development of Raghopur riverine area. Nitish Kumar’s move has created a disquiet in the principal opposition party of the state.
Hike in Social Security Pension
Chief Minister, who has achieved success in creating a narrative of social justice and development, has hiked the amount of pension from Rs 400 to Rs 1100 per month for differently abled persons, old age, widow. All the beneficiaries would get increased pension amount from July itself. The government’s decision would benefit 1.09 crore beneficiaries.
Employment means – Nitish Kumar
The state government has proved the slogan “employment means – Nitish Kumar” completely right as the government has carried out a recruitment drive to fill up the posts in different departments, the recent one being the distribution of appointment letters to 21,391 jawans of Bihar police by the CM. The women category constitutes the highest number in the recruitment.
During the programme held to distribute appointment letters to constables, Nitish Kumar asked the state’s DGP to fill up the vacancies of 55,000 posts of constables and expedite the appointment of remaining 22,000 posts.
Not only this, Nitish Kumar on March 2 this year distributed appointment letters to competency test-2 pass out 59,028. He also distributed appointment letters to BPSC selected 51,389 teachers on March 9. CM distributed appointment letters to 101 Assistant Architects on June 25, while he gave away letters to 315 newly selected Block Horticulture Officers on May 19.
Better Law & Order is Nitish govt’s USP
Better law and order has been CM Nitish Kumar’s USP which is evident from the fact that the number of police personnel has increased to more than 2.5 times during his regime in past 20 years.
The number of police personnel was 42,481 in the year 2005 when he took over the reins of the state in November but the number has increased to 1.10 lakh which is 2.5 times of what it used to be in 2005.
In order to further improve law and order situation in the state, a large number of appointment is being made in police force. As a result, the Nitish Kumar government has been able to tame the organised crime in the state while naxal incidents have become a thing of the past.
In order to ensure quick disposal of criminal cases besides ensuring the convictions of criminals through expeditious trials, the government has appointed “Court Naib” and “Court Officer”. Efficient and experienced police personnel will be appointed as Court Naib and Court Officer who will be deputed in civil courts to speed up the process.
Growth with Justice has been the mantra of his government, the Chief Minister made no bones in stating that there will be no compromise on the issue of crime control.
