India register 90 per cent jump in coronavirus cases, 2183 fresh infections in last 24 hours

New Delhi : India has registered a coronavirus case jump of almost 90 per cent than yesterday; 2183 new infections have been registered in the nation in last 24 hours, as per official data from health ministry.

According to the data, the number of deaths logged in the same duration stands at 214; it is not mentioned if this is a figure correction or actually so many people lost their lives in 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stands at .83 per cent and the weekly positivity rate stands at .32 per cent.

To give a perspective on above data, India on Sunday had registered 1,150 fresh cases and four deaths.

Meanwhile, a huge spike in the number of coronavirus cases has been registered in Delhi as well. More than 500 cases have been registered in the national capital.

The coronavirus curbs were eased across the nation a few weeks back after the cases declined in the nation. With latest spikes, it is expected that the restrictions will be reimposed soon.

A key government meeting is scheduled for April 20 in Delhi.
