Apple's Self-Driving Car Launch Delayed to 2026: Know the Details
Delhi : Apple Inc. has delayed the intended launch date for its upcoming electric vehicle to 2026 and dialled back its ambitious self-driving aspirations.
Shares of the iPhone makers dropped 2.4% as a result of the report.
Since the company initially began to create a car from scratch in 2014, its automotive initiatives, known as Project Titan, have developed unevenly.
Apple is now considering a less ambitious design that would still have a steering wheel & pedals but will only enable fully automated driving on highways.
As per the report, the business intends to create a car that would allow drivers to perform other tasks while on the freeway and receive an alarm with enough time to shift to manual control. Apple is trying to debut an electric car as early as 2025 and had refocused the project to include fully autonomous driving capabilities.
According to the report, Apple's dream vehicle would feature interiors customized for hands-free driving and exclude the steering wheel and pedals.
