Controversial dialogue of Hanuman Ji in 'Adipurush' altered after backlash

New Delhi : 'Adipurush', featuring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, has found itself amidst controversy due to certain dialogues being labeled as "tapori" (street slang). However, the film's creators have swiftly responded to the criticism by modifying the contentious lines.

The specific dialogue that caused the uproar was delivered by Devdatta Nage, who portrays the character of Bajrang (Hanuman), during the Lanka Dahan scene. The original lines read: "Kapda tere baap ka, tel tere baap ka, aag bhi tere baap ki, aur jalegi bhi tere baap ki." However, the revised version in the new prints now replaces the word "baap" (father) with "Lanka" (referring to the mythical kingdom).

A Prabhas fan on Twitter shared the clip from the updated prints, where the dialogue can be heard as: "Kapda teri Lanka ka, tel teri Lanka ka, aag bhi teri Lanka ki, aur jalegi bhi teri Lanka hi."

'Adipurush' draws inspiration from the revered Hindu epic, Ramayana. Directed by the talented filmmaker Om Raut, the movie features a star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage. It was released across multiple languages, namely Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, last week on June 16.
