A Donald Trump dosa, served hot, in Chennai!

Los angeles : United States President-elect Donald Trump is also a popular face in India and now he has an own dosa, too.

The businessman is hugely popular at Suprabaa, a modest hotel located at Valluvar Salai in Ramapuram.

The restaurant owner C.P. Mukund Das is a self-confessed Trump fan and now has introduced a ‘White Dosa’, “with respect to the tremendous victory of Donald Trump”.

The banner outside the hotel details the owner’s fascination with Mr Trump and prices the dosa at Rs. 50,

No wonder it is the hot favourite at the restaurant currently, with most customers referring to it as the ‘white dosa’.

According to Mukund, “I’m a huge fan of Trump, especially his speeches and facial expressions, and have always wanted him to win the U.S. elections. I decided that if he won, I’d come up with a tribute to him in my restaurant. Since we announced it with a banner outside our restaurant, many curious onlookers come in, specifically for the Trump special. If an artist likes a celebrity, he could paint him/her as a tribute. But, as a hotelier, all I can do is introduce a new dish and name it after the person, right?”

Nearly 130 dosas are served hot daily to customers on a banana leaf with several chutneys and butter on side.

Mukund runs the decade-old hotel chain, which has six branches across the city.

Initially Mukund faced a backlash when it advertised the ‘Trump dosa’ outside its premises but then after Trump’s victory operations are running smooth at the hotel chain.
