8 donkeys jailed in UP for damaging saplings

Orai : Nothing less than 8 donkeys were lodged behind the bars in a jail in Orai (UP) for damaging saplings. They were released only after a BJP leader intervened in the matter.

The donkeys were jailed by Jail Superintendent Sita Ram Sharma, who lost his cool after learning that they have chewed up costly plants brought by the prison authorities for plantation inside the jail premises. 

The owner first asked the jail superintendent to forgive his donkeys, but after several failed requests he pleaded help from a BJP leader who then intervened and released the four legged animals.

On request of Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) leader Shakti Gahoi, the jailor immediately signed 'release orders'.
