Death threat to BJP's Manoj Tiwari via SMS

New Delhi : Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari received a death threat via a SMS on his personal number where the sender said that he is under 'extreme compulsion' to eliminate him.

The unidentified person in his message mentioned that he will also eliminate Prime Minister of India "if need be", said Mr. Tiwari.

"I have informed the police about the threat," Mr Tiwari told new agency PTI.

According to the report, the sender also apologised by saying sorry to the leader, claiming that his decision is due to extreme compulsion.

A formal complaint about the threat will be lodged soon, said Delhi BJP's Media Relations head Neelkant Bakshi.

The SMS was received on Manoj Tiwari's mobile phone at 12:52 pm on Friday which he saw on Saturday evening and immediately informed the police, he added.
