Delhi : On Tuesday afternoon, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that powerful earthquake tremors were felt in a number of locations in north India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Within a little more than 30 minutes, there were two earthquakes, the first measuring 4.6 and the second 6.2. According to the NCS, both earthquakes had their roots in Nepal.

According to the NCS, the first earthquake was felt at 2:25 and the second one happened at 2:51.

When they felt the powerful earthquake vibrations, which lasted for more than a minute, many residents in north India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana, hurried out of their buildings.

According to NCS, the epicentre was in Nepal and the depth was five km.



Delhi and the surrounding areas experienced severe vibrations that lasted for many seconds.

Videos posted to social media showed people rushing out of their homes and workplaces.
