New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) celebrated its time in Jubilee on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the part of the celebration and told the agency not to spare anyone in the fight against corruption.

"The nation is with you," Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the agency.

Interestingly, Prime Minister Modi’s comments came at a time when opposition is claiming that the centre is misusing the agency against them.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, "CBI's primary responsibility is to get rid of corruption. But due to some political influence, the fight is going to be difficult as some of the accused are powerful people and they target investigation agencies to distract them. But, the agency should not worry and focus on work as the country is with them."

He also suggested officers to take strict action against the corrupt without fearing if he is politically powerful or has very strong connections.

At the event, PM Modi also mentioned that India got its legacy of corruption at the time of independence. Corruption is not an ordinary crime. It is a root cause of all kinds of crime and the biggest roadblocks in the development.

CBI is fighting against the corrupt people and it is very important for them to fight it with full dignity. PM Modi hope that with unified efforts, one day the nation will become corruption free.
