IRCTC goes down for the second time in a month, users angry

New Delhi : This has happened for the second time when users had to face a website down message when they tried to make a booking on IRCTC website and application.
The Downtime message on the IRCTC site said, "DUE TO MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY E-TICKETING SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY LATER. FOR CANCELLATION/FILE TDR, PLEASE CALL AT CUSTOMER CARE NO. 011-39340000,011-23340000 OR MAIL AT etickets@irctc.co.in."
The website went down at around 10 am without any prior notice to users via Indian Railways. However, the website was up at 10:35 am and went down againt at 11 am with the same message; the website was again functional at 11:45am.
Earlier, on May 24, IRCTC website had gone offline for over six hours. Users who tried logging in to the app received a message saying, “Unable to retrieve data. Please try again.”
Users who tried to log in the website slammed it on the social media:

As per IRCTC records, the average daily sale of train tickets through the IRCTC portal is 5.5 gto 6 lakhs approximately.
