Lok Sabha passes Judicial Appointment Bill 2014
- Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the national Judicial Appointment Bill 2014
- The Bill is aimed at hiring meritorious students as judges of Supreme Court and High Courts
- A total of 367 votes went in favour of the Bill
- Ravi Shankar Prasad said in current Bill there are many flaws
- He also mentioned that deserving candidates don’t get fair chance to be at top post
- The new system is believed to overcome these flaws which will make selection on the basis of ability and merit
