Lok Sabha passes Judicial Appointment Bill 2014

Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the national Judicial Appointment Bill 2014
The Bill is aimed at hiring meritorious students as judges of Supreme Court and High Courts
A total of 367 votes went in favour of the Bill
Ravi Shankar Prasad said in current Bill there are many flaws
He also mentioned that deserving candidates don’t get fair chance to be at top post
The new system is believed to overcome these flaws which will make selection on the basis of ability and merit
