Maharashtra ex-CM tests coronavirus positive
Mumbai : Maharashtra’s Minister for Public Works Department Ashok Chavan has been tested positive for the coronavirus; he was under home quarantine in Nanded for the past few days after his driver had tested positive for the virus, according to party sources.
After his test reports came positive, the minister moved to Mumbai for treatment.
“I am absolutely fine. Will return to Nanded soon,” he told reporters in his hometown before boarding a cardiac ambulance for Mumbai. Sources said Chavan is presently asymptomatic.
Maharashtra has been the worst affected state from Coronavirus in India with more than 50,000 confirmed positive cases of the virus.
More than 1,600 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra.
