Massive dust storm blankets Rajasthan; electric poles, trees damaged

New Delhi : A massive blanket of dust storm covered multiple areas in Rajasthan, including Churu, Taranagar, Sardarshahar, and Rajgarh. Social media has been flooded with videos of the dust storm blanketing the daytime sky and significantly affecting visibility and traffic in the affected regions. According to reports, electric poles, trees and other properties in open have received the damage. However, no loss of life has been reported so far.

Heavy rains followed the dust storm in the region.

The change in weather conditions occurred just two days after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy rainfall in different areas of Rajasthan.

Last month, several parts of Rajasthan experienced severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, resulting in significant damage to power grids and electricity distribution systems across the state. The destructive weather conditions had a detrimental impact on the infrastructure and disrupted the supply of electricity in various areas.
