New Delhi : The National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India is pleased to announce the second meeting of it 'MITRUM' (Friends of  NGMA). 

‘MITRUM’ is a multi-cultural, friendly group of enthusiastic people, where they could unite to share a common interest in arts & cultures. 

The second meeting of the Mitrum group will commence on 21st July 2018 at 4 pm, Preview Theater, Administrative Wing, NGMA, New Delhi.  The meetings of the Mitrum group is being held on the first and third Saturdays of every month.  

Come and be a part of the Mitrum group of NGMA, meet new and interesting people with common interests and give your valuable contribution to the organization.

Shri Adwaita Garanayak, Director General, NGMA remarks: “I am delighted that the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, has initiated the MITRUM programme.  The Mitrum group will be a friend of NGMA, the members of which will hail from diverse background and share a common interest in arts and culture. These friends can benefit the museum by providing various points of view and invaluable suggestions. This effort is a small step towards making NGMA more accessible and friendly to the masses.”

The foremost responsibility of the NGMA is to ensure quality and to set and maintain standards of excellence. The aesthetic and educational purposes are not only defined in the aims and objectives of the NGMA, but efforts are also being made so that they become implicit in its organization and pervade all its activities.

Above all, the National Gallery of Modern Art helps people to look at the works of modern art with greater joy, understanding and knowledge by extending their relationship with their daily life and experiencing them as vital expressions of the human spirit.
