Shri Ramcharitmanas Poetic Hindi Version Release: Jagadguru Shankaracharya calls it the Epic is Pillar of India's Ancient Knowledge System

New Delhi : On Tuesday, April 4th, a poetic Hindi translation of the epic "Ramcharitmanas" was launched at Delhi's Siri Fort Auditorium. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj unveiled the new version of the Mahakavya (great poem). The event was chaired by Shri Rajnath Singh, Defense Minister, Government of India.

Several prominent figures attended the event, including Jagatguru Ramanandacharya Swami Ramrajeshwaracharya, Mahant Ravindra Puri Ji Maharaj, Swami Jitendranath Ji Maharaj, and Dandi Swami Jitendranath Saraswati Ji Maharaj. Shri Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, also graced the ceremony.

During the event, Shri Rajnath singh Defense Minister jointly with Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, launched an audio version of the Sundar Kand of the epic for social media. The audio version is rendered by noted Singers, Suresh Wadkar, Pandit Anand Sharma, Ms. Tulsi Kumar, Kapil Sharma, Smt. Padma Wadkar, Ms. Sanjivani Bhilande, Ms. Sugandha Date, Shri Debojit Saha, Ms. Leena Bose, and others.

The objective of the translation is to make the Ramcharitmanas, written in the Avadhi language, more accessible. Ramcharitmanas is considered a pillar of the Indian knowledge tradition.

In order to propagate the story of Lord Rama to the masses during the medieval period, the renowned Sanskrit scholar Goswami Tulsidas chose the common language of northern India, Avadhi, to write the Ramayana as Ramcharitmanas. Although it is extremely beloved and meaningful, the epic was written in the vernacular language of the time, which even most Hindi-speakers cannot fully comprehend. The purpose for which Goswami chose to write the Ramayana in the Avadhi language is still relevant today. It is necessary to bring this amazing epic, written in Avadhi, to every household in the form of a Hindi poem.

Shankaracharya, the great spiritual leader, said in his address, "Indian civilization is considered the oldest in the world. In India, the development of this civilization is based on two great epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. The Ramcharitmanas, written by Goswami Tulsidas in the Avadhi language, is the most prominent epic in Indian languages. The life story of Lord Rama is the foundation of Indian consciousness. In his portrayal of Lord Rama, Goswami Ji has described the qualities of an ideal son, an ideal brother, an ideal husband, and an ideal ruler with perfect balance in all these ro

Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh Ji said, "First of all, I thank Dheeraj Bhatnagar for this noble effort. I am very happy to be a part of this event. The epic Ramayana, based on the life of Lord Shri Ram, not only teaches ethical, humane, and practical dignity in India but also around the world. This book is a treasure trove of compassion, love, and ideals for all humanity. Goswami Tulsidas was called the Valmiki of the Kaliyuga. Goswami Tulsidas made the greatest contribution in making the Ramayana a folk tale by merging it into the language of the people. In the same way, Dheeraj Bhatnagar has done an excellent job of translating it into Hindi. In the coming times, his work will reside in the heart of Indian society. It will be a source of inspiration for future generations."

Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur said, "During Middle Ages, the great Sanskrit scholar Goswami Tulsidas chose the popular language of northern India, Awadhi, to spread the story of Lord Rama to the masses, and wrote the epic Ramcharitmanas in that language. Despite being very poetic and meaningful, most Hindi speakers today cannot understand it. Goswami Ji's intention was to bring the story of Rama to the common people in their language. This is still relevant today."

Dr. Dheeraj Bhatnagar has completed the entire poetic translation of Goswami Tulsidas' Shri Ramcharitmanas in Hindi over the past two years. The aim of this Hindi poetic translation is to make the original Avadhi-language Shri Ramcharitmanas understandable to a wider audience. The beautiful sections of this poetic translation are also being launched on social media platforms such as YouTube in audio format.

The book has been printed by 'Repro Books Limited', and the illustrations are done by Vijay Verma. The book is available on a new Indian portal called "Bookspace".
