Woman molested moments before she died in Elphinstone stampede

Mumbai : What could have made deaths worse during Elphinstone railway station stampede in Mumbai? Molestation of victim women; in a recent media report it has been claimed that a woman was molested by a bystander moments before she lost her life in the incident.

A video has surfaced in the victim woman can be seen attempting to reach for help before the incident happened.

According to The Hindu, Jayshree Kanade, a resident of the financial capital, who was at Parel station when the incident took place, said: “Many stole women purses and gold ornaments, adding,” The man who molested the woman should be punished. How can he do such a thing when a woman is fighting for life and asking for help?”

A video of the bizarre act has sparked outrage amongst people and Niket Kaushik, Commissioner, Government Railway Police while speaking to The Hindu assured strict enquiry in the matter.

“This case comes under Mumbai Police, but I will also initiate an inquiry.”
