Rajya Sabha Elections: List of nominees from Aam Aadmi Party

New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party announcing the name of nominees for its three Rajya Sabha seats became a topic of debate when Kumar Vishwas got ditched over other members. 

Arvind Kejriwal led AAP announced a prominent chartered accountant, Narain Dass Gupta, businessman and social activist Sushil Gupta and party functionary Sanjay Singh as nominees for the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled on January 16.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia made the announcement of names following a meeting of the party's political affairs committee (PAC) and consultations with over 50 MLAs at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence.

Eight members of the 11-member PAC voted for all three canddiates. Ashutosh gave his consent for N D Gupta and Sanjay Singh but did not vote for Sushil Gupta. PAC member Kumar Vishwas was not invited while Sanjay Singh did not attend.

Later, after the announcement of names for the three candidates, Kumar Vishwas dubbed himself as a martyr cheated by his own party. (Read full story on this here)
