Food lovers, here's top Indian foods ordered online in 2018

New Delhi : Here go the best Indian foods of the year! After thorough survey with the help of top food delivery networks online, it has been revealed that foodies in India ordered most desi foods online in 2018. The statics showed that Indians got experimental with international cuisines and also little health conscious with their choice of food. 

A six month analysis reveals that Indian dishes received top position as the most liked cuisine across the country, followed by American, Chinese, Italian and Middle Eastern. Hyderabad, Delhi and Chennai are the top cities that order the maximum Indian cuisine.

Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai made an attractive choice towards eating healthy, suggested annual order analysis report- StatEATistics 2018.

The list of popular Indian dishes in 2018 served with eco-friendly packaging options are:

  • Orange juice
  • Fruit Salad

  • Panner makhni
  • Haleem
  • Butter Chicken

The above mentioned pure Indian foods were often ordered in major cities like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. To surprise all, Indian considered a calorie-conscious diet on weekdays by ordering healthy food compared to weekends.

Fruit juices were consumed five times more than aerated drinks, according to the trend study. There has been a considerable surge in the number of people ordering vegetarian food. Compared to last year's 43 per cent, 62 per cent of the orders across the country were vegetarian, with Ahmedabad topping the list for most vegetarian dishes ordered. On the other hand, Bengaluru ordered the most chicken dishes followed by Hyderabad.

Also, Indians increasingly turned to order during their festivals while choosing to spend some quality time with their loved ones. Durga Puja saw an increase in orders for Mishti Doi and Kalakand, while Butter Chicken, Hyderabadi Biryani and Haleem saw a massive spike in orders during Eid. Furthermore, popular items like laddoo and karanji saw a 400 per cent increase during Ganesh Chaturthi, the sales of gujiya increased nearly 10 times in the week of Holi.
