New Delhi : Cancer is one of the deadly diseases one can ever imagine. Though some cancers at initial stage are curable, most of them turn serious to snatch lives. Though cancer is still a mystery for health experts, scientific research say that there are a few things which can actually reduce your risk of getting cancer.

Say 'no' to tobacco products

It is known to all that smoking causes’ lung cancer but beyond this, it can cause cancer of the mouth, throat, larynx, cervix, bladder, pancreas, and kidney. Cutting tobacco products can minimize your risk of cancer.

Limit alcohol intake

According to the National Cancer Institute, consumption of alcohol can lead to several types of cancers, including breast, liver, head, neck, and colorectal cancer. Research has also shown that people who use both alcohol and tobacco have a great risk of developing cancer.

Maintain balance weight

The Mayo Clinic suggests maintaining healthy balanced weight can lower the risk of different cancers including breast, prostate, colon, lung, and kidney cancer.

Stay active with aerobic activity

The Mayo Clinic suggests that regular physical activity could lower your risk of breast and colon cancer. Adults should strive for 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous activity.

Healthy vegetable and fruit diet

Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and high-quality sources of protein can help prevent certain cancers. The American Cancer Society recommends eating at least two and a half cups of vegetables and fruits a day. Experts also advice to consume less red and processed meat, choose whole grains over refined grains and snacks on less sugar as good ways to lower your cancer risk.
